Here are some things to consider in making your decision if and when to go to grad school.

It is much better to acknowledge that your plans are a little uncertain than to plow blindly ahead and find out later that you've wasted your time.  Here are some common concerns people have:

  1. Not sure if grad school will really be helpful for your career or personal plans.
  2. Not sure if grad school will be a worthwhile investment.
  3. Want to go but not sure what field would be best.
  4. Know what to do but not sure when your circumstances will allow you to go.

How to deal with these questions?

  1. Talk with career counselors at your school.
  2. Hire a professional career counselor (can be very effective!)
  3. Make a research plan to get the info you need.

This can be a tough step.  Call me and I'll be happy to make some suggestions.

A great first step would be to set a deadline for doing your career research and/or working on your personal schedule.  Once you know what you want to go into and when, you can start working backwards to figure out your application deadline and when you should take the GRE. You can come back to the Quick Tour then and make a plan.  PRINT THIS PAGE AS A REMINDER.

If you are considering applying soon, contact any school you are interested in and find out their deadlines.  Then, if you do decide to go, you will know if you have time to apply.
